Computer Code – Art or Math? Is it a question?

Over the years, I’ve read and heard many really good coders say that programming is math and that is why they love it. At the same time, I’ve read many who say that computer programming is art and that is why they love it. it really isn’t an argument ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just check out the exhibition at ProcessingJS.org. It is truly an example of the wonders of math and art in a computer language though another computer language.

On my side, I love the art side of coding stuff. In other words I love getting to the end result of how a page looks. But I rarely do the calculations to figure out my CSS. I more often right click and adjust the code through browser developer tools until it just “looks right”. Using my browser and a couple of browser emulation tools to position things is, to me, like using a brush to paint, except it’s adjusting code ๐Ÿ˜‰ So, or me, it’s all about making good art with code ๐Ÿ™‚
